We are looking for a Freelance Project Engineer to join our team for a 8-month project. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the technical aspects of the project run smoothly, meeting both the company’s and the client’s expectations. Your goal is to deliver the best possible project outcome.
Function description
Project scope
- Engineering works for pull & prep and stripping and storage works for the Transition Piece.
- Further design the pull-in setup
- Prepare stripping and storage method in TP
- Perform simple calculations for e.g. (sling) loads in the TP
- Interface management with client on requirements for the designed pull-in setup
- Coordinate with E&E Mechanical engineering department to update design of pull-in frame
- Approach fabricators to manufacture, or modify the pull-in frame
- Support in preparations for the P&P mock-up
Tasks and responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact for the Project Manager, project team, and other key stakeholders
- Develop and implement specific work methods, including risk analysis
- Provide coordination and advice when technical challenges arise
- Oversee subcontractors
- Review and manage subcontractor documentation
- Ensure work instructions, methods, and drawings are properly documented and shared
Requirements
- Experience in Pull & prep works is required.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering, ideally in Offshore Engineering or Maritime Infrastructure
- At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the offshore wind industry
- Experience in supporting projects and managing external engineers and suppliers
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A practical, independent, and creative problem-solver who can make decisions and work well in teams
- Willingness to travel abroad for short or long periods regularly
- Because of the project locations an EU citizenship is required
