Function description

For the offshore activities on this project we are looking for a Works Manager who will prepare, guide and work on the immersion of the tunnelelements and be in charge of the execution on site. The main purpose of the Works Manager is to work alongside the Site Manager/Project Manager and be responsible for all labour and plant, safe and cost-effective operations of the project. 

Main responsibility:

• Develop operation manuals, drawings, and contingency procedures from hook-up tot post-immersion works and update method statements and operation manuals.
• Lead the operational installation for STE and SPE tunnel elements.
• Coordinate immersion operations with tow master and Immersion Pontoon barge masters.
• Support the basin master in float-up and transfer operations.
• manage operational interfaces with other departments.
• Improve Immersion Pontoon and Tunnel Element Control Systems.
• Develop procedures with the Marine Warranty Surveyor. Focus on future maintenance and improvement requirements, and define necessary tools and equipment for maintenance.
• Participate in harbour and sea trials of Immersion Pontoons and maintain records of periodic checks and corrective actions.

Next to this you will also be responsible for the equipment management, you will work closely with HR with regards to the project-specific resources and you will work closely with Procurement with regard to equipment and spare parts.

Requirements

• You have experience with offshore installations.
• You are used working rotation.
• You have a maritime background and a minimum of 10 years experience in marine operations.
• Experience with immersion of caissons or heavy lift on a vessel.
• Last but not least, you know your way around a large (say; huge) International project.
