30 October 2026 Engineering

Short Description

Are you a senior naval architect, maritime engineer or civil engineer with deep experience in hydrodynamics and large marine operations? We are looking for an Immersion Master in Rødbyhavn, Denmark, to take senior ownership of tunnel element float-up, ballast planning and immersion. This is a lead role for someone who can set the operational line, manage interfaces and take decisions during execution.

Function Description

As Immersion Master you hold a senior position at the centre of transport and immersion. You own the weight and ballast plans of the tunnel elements (concrete and water) and lead the related operations: float-up, transfers in basins and harbour, mooring, offshore transport, immersion and stability after immersion.

You calculate floatability from as-built data, set ballast concrete and trim-water levels, and check the plan against requirements such as post-tensioning capacity and minimum freeboard. You coordinate with outfitting and marine operations so the plan is implemented, assist during float-up, and determine ballast for sea transport, including hoist loads on the immersion pontoon. The scope also covers special tunnel elements, tank layouts, change requests and weight analysis for the closure joint.

You lead operation manuals, drawings, test and inspection plans and contingency procedures, manage interfaces with other departments, and review control systems, handover, go/no-go and marine warranty survey procedures. You report to the Transport and Immersion Manager and work on site in Rødbyhavn.

Requirements

  • Qualified civil engineer with expertise in hydrodynamics, or naval architect / maritime engineer
  • At least 10 years’ relevant experience in immersion of large structures, float-up, ballast planning and/or complex offshore marine operations
  • Proven senior experience taking ownership of operations, documentation and multidisciplinary interfaces
  • Strong understanding of stability, weight control, trim and hydrodynamics
  • Able to write and review operational documentation and work across engineering, outfitting and marine operations
  • Decisive, structured and clear under operational pressure
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
If you are a senior marine professional ready to take lead responsibility on a complex immersed-tunnel scope, we would like to hear from you. Apply today with your CV.
