1. How long have you been working in the Netherlands?
I have been in the Netherlands since February 2020.
2. What do you do for iPS? Explain your job
I am a Senior Recruitment Consultant responsible for the white-collar roles in the maritime and energy industries. I am also responsible for the recruitment of new colleagues within iPS.
3. What are the biggest differences between the Netherlands and Russia? What surprised you the most?
I am originally from Russia, but before moving to the Netherlands I have lived for 7 years in the UAE. The biggest difference is of course the climate:) I am still getting used to the cold rainy days. But I am very happy to have a lot of greenery and fresh air around me.
4. What do you miss the most about Dubai?
Constant Dubai sunshine and my weekends on the beach. And.. a tax free salary of course :)
5. Was it hard to integrate?
I have moved to the Netherlands few weeks before the lockdown, so it was a bit hard to have the full picture of the ¨real life¨ in the Netherlands. But even during the Covid time it was not that difficult to integrate. My colleagues were friendly and kept in touch with me, plus I still had a chance to meet people outside of work. In general I find it easy to be an expat in the Netherlands since there are a lot of people from all over the world and Dutch people are really friendly to the foreigners.
Crossing borders
Our iPS Select colleagues are working at their offices around the globe. We celebrate our multicultural DNA, because together we can achieve more. We introduce three of our colleagues who live and work in different countries than the country in which they were born. Why did they make their choice? What are the differences they experience? Read their stories.
