Crossing borders

I have moved to the Netherlands few weeks before the lockdown, so it was a bit hard to have the full picture of the ¨real life¨ in the Netherlands. But even during the Covid time it was not that difficult to integrate.

Dutch people are very friendly and open. I got lots of help over the years and I love Dutch culture.

I don’t feel like it was hard to integrate. Dutch society seems to have diversity as one of its core features and that makes it easy to feel part of it. Ultimately, Rotterdam and the Netherlands is where I currently feel the most comfortable and that is why I would say it was easy to make it my new home.

Getting used to the professional culture was difficult at first – there really is the “Dutch Directness” that was a bit startling to me in the beginning, but after getting used to it, I’ve come to appreciate such open and honest communication.
