Short description

There is an exciting project opportunity with an industry leader, leading in offshore works from dredging to engineering to construction. We are looking for someone who will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the planning of major modifications and repairs to existing equipment.

Function description

As the project planner for the Ship Management Department, you will be in charge of managing the planning factors and applying them to the different project phases. You will be responsible for translating the risks into the planning for construction, modification, and repair of ships and the equipment.

What will you do?

  • Develop schedules within a technical environment and incorporate schedules from other parties into a comprehensive overall plan.
  • Convert tasks managed by technically-focused colleagues into a feasible and realistic schedule.
  • Create scenarios to determine the best options for both the preparation and execution phases of projects.
  • Evaluate and critically review third-party schedules, and develop a contingency plan.
  • Engage in risk assessment sessions and actively contribute to the discussions.
  • Collaborate with a team of project managers, planners, and engineers.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with multidisciplinary technical projects and a background in planning within the maritime (manufacturing) industry, steel, or construction sectors. In this position, you will collaborate with project managers, technical superintendents, and engineers, making strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset essential. As a project planner, it is also important that you are proactive and take initiative in planning for instrument deployment during project execution. Additionally, you should meet the following job requirements:

  • A technical degree or a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • At least three years of experience in project control planning.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in developing project plans using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Availability to work full-time, with a minimum commitment of 32 hours per week.
  • Willingness to travel to construction sites and yards both within the Netherlands and internationally.
